    Discovered! Original Mego Head Sculpts

It is truly rare to find something related to mego production after all these years, prototypes, original sculpts and proof cards are actively traded in other action figure circles but there really has not been a great deal of Mego items that have come to the surface. That’s why it’s so exciting to discover that…

    WOW!!! That's amazing!

And even with no hair or paint... you can still tell that's Cher!

Awesome! Hutch looks like Hutch, to me, in the prototype. Of course, Cher looks like a her as the doll did in its finished state.

The person was involved in the toy industry, that's all i can really say. I did discover that the tooling for the head molds was done in the United States at the time, which jives considering how many molds have been discovered stateside.

That is really amazing after all these years. This person is cool for sharing. AND nice job getting a hold of these for the Museum. I understand, but do wish we could have more of a backstory on how the person came to make these and have them after all these years.

Seeing the Cher head in its early stages reminds me of Neil Kublan's story about going out to Cher's place to get approval for the sculpt (did he share that at MegoCon in '04?) and she was... distracted by Gregg Allman.

                Very cool !!!

Are these actual size or larger ? … Think I've heard sculpts are shrunk down to proper size when cast somehow

So these are cast to make wax moulds and then to metal ?

<BOOM!> It's not even Friday yet!… and given this wackOhumanitytimechange week I'm having, seeing original sculpts on a Thursday is awesome.

Neat! It's amazing something so fragile survived this long.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
