    Hanging shelves...

Hi all...Stupid question, but what is an easy way to hang a simple display shelf on a wall, big enough to display 3 or 4 12 inch figures, without having to hunt for wall studs, etc....or is there a simpler way?....lol...Thanks....

If it's not crazy heavy get a few molly screws and cheap L shelf hangers

The sheetrock should support it if it's not too too heavy

I always screw into wall studs. I’m too OCD to just screw into sheetrock, plus many of my collectibles are heavy statues. I use heavy duty steel brackets as well.

But since your figures are light, use heavy duty molly wall anchors and L-shaped brackets, like Mikey said...

buy a small curio cabinet, it would be easier. otherwise, I am with Hector, screw into studs, you are better off in the long run

For the very best wall brackets in the business, Etsy’s DVA Metal is unmatched. Dimitar is a master at his craft, I’ve bought several brackets from him (including custom work). Brackets are not cheap, but they are awesome. Wooden boards are so easy to install over them. He can cut the lip any size you want to match the thickness of your shelves. Highly recommended...

My art studio’s walls are particle board, so mounting the brackets were a no-brainer, super easy.

But I also screwed them into my man cave cottage’s wall studs, where my collection is located...

I live in a town house and even with a digital stud finder I dont think the studs are evenly placed in the wall...

And if you did, would you really want to drill into it ?

Believe me, it ain't easy. You either have to be rich and hire someone, or have the right equipment.

I use the Ikea Lack shelves for a lot of my figures (they are available in a few different sizes and colours). Nice clean design, you can't even see the mounting once installed. It was impossible to line up both sides with my wall studs so I didn't even bother. I just used those plastic things that you put on the ends of the screws that open up inside the wall so that they don't fall out. I installed them over 12 years ago, and never had a problem.

Put my vote down for finding the studs . . . I've seen way too many disasters happen with shelves in plain drywall or plaster.

Sounds like the cleanest and best looking way to go about it as long as the figures aren't too heavy
