    Need Some Torch Advice...

I'm going to make a Human Torch custom and I'm not sure if I should go with a red body suit painted like the original (which I find a bit bland) or go with one of the following fabrics (they are all cotton, no stretch, unfort., but I thought they'd look good on a fiery character) from EBay.

I need some advice, can any of you, my Mego Mates, help me out? I'm leaning toward #s 1 or 2...

The longest flame on this 1st fabric is 3.5 inches

I think 2 might be easier to work with as the flames are not all going the same direction, might be easier to line up.

I like the 3rd one for torch. The first two can be used to make a Bam Bam Bigelow figure

My thoughts in leaning toward #s 1 and 2 were that the Torch is usually red with yellow/orange flame. Those two fabrics have a red background w/ yellow and orange flames on top. The third fabric doesnt have a red background...it's just all flames (with a bit of black peeking through).

To me, #3 is the most natural looking one. I would use #3.

Here's flame fabric #1 cut out (haven't sewed it up just yet, but I'm still digging it)...

Lol! I'd actually love a Bam Bam Bigelow Mego - it'd make a great companion piece to the Andre Mego figure.

I didn't know who Bam Bam Bigelow is...I'm guessing a wrestler, now that Andre the Giant has been mentioned.

                        I image-searched your material choices.

I'll admit I do like your prototype trimmed out for choice #1.

Moreover, when I look at the closeup of #3, and I really prefer the predominant orange details, with the small black hints throughout.

PS, along the same vein, if a customizer may prefer stretch material, maybe also consider sourcing some "flame socks". Here are a few online pics for examples. I happened to find some at retail a while back at EB Games/ GamesStop.

I've looked for stretch fabric with flames on EBay, but the options are extremely limited.

I like this one. The flame pattern looks to be in scale with the figure. Problem is how will the flame pattern pan out when the figure has it arms raised for a flying pose. (With the flames shooting up on the torso and shooting downwards when the arms are raised.) The original Mego suit was kinda direction neutral in that respect.
