Sounds like Amell is getting burned out on the back and forth commute between Los Angeles and Vancouver, B.C. He mentioned something in the video about wanting to spend more time with his wife and child.

You cannot blame him for wanting to spend some time with his new baby. From what I can figure is the last 10 episode with finish the Crisis On Infinite Earth where Green Arrow may die to save the multiverse. That being said he did state that given time he doesn't mind popping back for an episode (Legends Of Tomorrow would be the easy choice).

I wish they would have had Arsenal become Red Arrow and taken over the show. It would have made since.

I have to say, while I like the CW shows, I really feel the could all do with shorter seasons. Black Lightning at 13 episodes feels pretty decent. Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl all feel like there is a lot of filler each season to round out their obligatory 23 episodes.
Of all the souls I have encountered his was the most...human.
