This Week's Unrecognized Comic Reference

Sometimes, I forget most people don' t know comics beyond the '78 Superman and the MCU...

In my fencing class this week, I had a young man show up who wanted to start lessons. I invite him to join for the lesson, and ask his name.

"Orion," he says.

"Cool," I say. "Were your parents big Jack Kirby fans?"

>Crickets<

Then one of my other student starts to laugh as he finishes processing the reference.
