One Banana, Two Banana, Three Banana, GORE!!

Syfy has announced they are bringing back the Banana Splits... but as a horror movie?!?! I really don't know what to begin to make of this.

Syfy is rebooting kids' show favorites the Banana Splits in a horror thriller airing later this year — get the details.

I guess they’re trying to reach the Five Nights At Freddys crowd. I have a niece that is obsessed with those characters.

Maybe they can get Marilyn Manson to cover the theme song.

Only the most soulless of reboots begin with "What have we got that's like (hip trend) and we can repurpose?"

Yeah, you probably hit the nail right on the head.

Of course, they're cashing in on it several years too late.

OK. That's a really good post header. Bravo, Wee.

I'm betting this doesn't happen with the Splits. HB just pulled their DC titles because they were tired of the depiction...unless they felt DC didn't go far enough?!

Yeah I found the announcement of this a few weeks after they decided to end the "adult reinterpretation" comics at DC to be a bit ironic, but then the cynic in me figures there's more money in a licensing out a movie than in making comics under the same umbrella company, so it's more a bottom line decision than a principle decision.

That's been the working title of all 80s cartoon reboots.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I don’t care in what genre they are in. Any form of the Banana Splits will rule...
