That alternate universe out-of-time setting may have also been Watchmen inspired, I suppose. The whole thing felt like The Royal Tenenbaums in Watchmen-world to me, but I dug it.

well we know it's after the sixties since 5 travels back and assassinates Kennedy. they also make it seem the father is immortal but never elaborate on that little tidbit. I mean he shows up in America in what appears to be the early 1900's and starts his fortune but the show's present time is clearly more close to our own, maybe a few years in the future. and he never changesComment

I'm only two eps in, and s far, it reminds me more of Watchmen than anything else. Not in a bad way, but it so far has that feel.Comment

I started watching last weekend, then took a couple days off and totally forgot I'd been watching it. In other words, not exactly compelling. Yet another case of a Netflix show being stretched way too thin over 10 episodes. Read one review that called it "inert", and that's a good word for it. I've liked #5's and Klaus' performances, but I'm on E8 now and really couldn't care less about the rest of the characters.Comment

I saw all ten episodes twice...then a third time with my sister, lol.
I love this show...it’s probably my all time favorite Netflix show ever....along with Stranger Things season 1...
Love Klaus and number 5...but I also love Vanya...the ignored one, until....well...no spoilers, lol...sigpicComment

Yahoooo! UMBRELLA ACADEMY has officially been greenlit for a second season! It will be interesting to see how they follow up the events in Season One...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment
