I love Trek but I have to be honest, this is a bit disappointing for me. The best of this set is the Gorn IMO, but it's
basically the 8" version super sized.

Spock looks like the new Mego update on TMP figures, Kirk and Scotty those likenesses just aren't doing it for me.

Interesting, I didn't know Mego would be using the 12" TMP head molds for Kirk and Spock. And yeah, I don't think that's supposed to be Scotty at all.

I don't recall ever seeing Spock referred to "Mister" Spock (as opposed to "Mr.") on toy packaging before.

These look great and I love the fact they reuse TMP sculpts. But these aren't final sculpts so that could change too.

BTW, that's a red shirt, not Scotty.

I think your right on the Scotty call, it might actually supposed be a red shirt security guard, although odd I'll admit,
that might explain no rank bars.

Maybe Scotty will be released with McCoy and Uhura or 14" Khan?

These look nice, but mixing the old Motion Picture sculpts with new sculpts makes them look disconnected, you can see that the sculpts don't match in style.

Those figures have head sculpts of what I would imagine a Korean Star Trek knockoff movie in the 70s might look like. Mego presents Korean Cinema's SPACE WALKERS, Colonel Kruk, Mister Spork and Scott Guard.

I assume the box art isn't final either, as the packaging says 8 inch figures.

I personally wish they had new sculpts. I think Kirk looks more like Robert Vaughn than Bill Shatner, myself. There's something weirdly severe about the TMP sculpts, in my opinion. But I'm happy for folks who dig them.
