    I have Type 3. I have had Type 3 since January 2004. That's 15 years of Type 3.
Please, someone come up with an original idea for a body name, like I did 15 years ago when I named the body I designed the Type 3.
    Thanks.
Amen, the type 3 needs to be left out of this discussion.

Type 3 is Farley's. You can't invert a neck plug and call it a 3rd version.

I'm with Jimbutsu. 2K works the best.

    Didn't we have this debate?

Try again. As mentioned before, I created and have been using the Type 3 body for the last 15 years.

I agree but for different reasons. Why is a custom body never manufactured by the company were talking about factor in to the discussion? I thought we were naming bodies made by Mego, not customs made with a mego-style? I don't see why ppl are so touchy about it.

If someone has made a custom body inspired by the Mego type 1 and type 2 bodies and logically called them type 3 then why would that affect anyone referring to the REAL thing using the logical term. Collectors have united on using type 0/1/2, so not calling the next one in line a 3 imo is a bit much to ask for a professional courtesy to our friend.

I intend on calling them type 3 and I also intend on continue calling John's cool customs "type3toys". If anyone feels strongly one way or the other, here's a suggestion: call it whatever ya want.

I'm either going with Type 2K and most likely I'll just continue saying "the new one with the reverse neck plug."

I think everybody should call it something different!

I typed this earlier but must have failed to hit enter. I think you're really understating the differences present in the new Mego body.

    male neck plug
    hard plastic torso and pelvis
solid limbs made out of a flexible material different from the torso and pelvis
flexible hands that grip better than original Mego ever did
    different innards
    different pins connecting joints
lower center of gravity due different weight distribution

The evolution is significant IMO. Also, IMHO, there's nothing "original" about referring to a scratch-built body as "type 3" when there's already an established type 0, 1, and 2. If I threw together an engine and some sheet metal and called it a "Mach 15" and said the name was an "original idea" people would laugh. All that being said I don't see why the new bodies aren't simply referred to as "the new bodies." I am a simple caveman collector and your complicated debates frighten and confuse me.
