Ha! Happy is punching WAY above his weight class... of course he was trying to make time with Black Widow too, so I admire his hutzpah.

Now if they could use the Ramones version of the cartoon theme the movie would be just about perfect.

exactly. Are they supposed to portray modern high school kids like Wally Cleaver?

It is also rated PG-13. If you want something to take younger kids to, there is a great family-friendly Spider-Man just released called "Into the Spiderverse"...

And even the 1960's cartoon was more violent for it's time and I turned out OK

If toys based on the movie will be marketing to small children than small children should be able to see the movie without mild swearing or mentions of surfing porn or sex, etc. Spidey should be a kids movie and not targeted towards old guys like us. I get the business reason but as a father of small kids do not agree.

Can't wait to take my kids to the Christopher Reeve Superman movie playing at my threatre soon.
Be sure to shield them from these scenes:

-Supes telling Lois the color of her underwear
-overly sexualized Miss Tessmacher and her cleavage lamenting she can never get it on with the good guys
-Supes and Lois having sex in the Fortress of Solitude (Superman II)

Just off the top of my head.
While your memory of the Reeve Superman movies may be that they were wholesome family fare, there were plenty of adult-oriented situations in them as well.

Whatever. Live action comic movies aren't made for small kids anymore. Why they ALL need crude remarks and smut is basically due to the today's world being so darn crude. Class is nearly nonexistent in media. The last Spidey movie ends with Aunt May about to yell out the F word?? His friend says he's searching porn?? Nuff said.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Carry on

My whole family is hell bent to see this in the theater, I haven't seen a Spider-Man in the theatre since Tobey Macguire and I wept through SM3. It does look kind of fun and different from what was done prior.

Gyllenhaal. This guy was up for every freakin superhero role for the past fifteen years, and he ends up as Mysterio...

I think the only roles he wasn't considered for was Thor and Wonder Woman.

This is like Leto turning down Strange, screwing up Joker, so now he's Morbius.

Oh man, this looks great! And finally Mysterio....Mysterio! One of my favorite Spidey villains is finally on the big screen, and he looks fantastic!

I personally don't have an issue at all with my kids hearing some minor swearing, and I'm sure they hear much worse at school, so that's the least of my worries. But I totally understand that some parents are less tolerant about letting their kids hear that if they can avoid it. Every parent raises their kids differently, it's their decision and I respect that. But the whole gang of us will definitely be seeing this in the theater, looks like a blast!

^Yes! I love Mysterio's costume...I just hope he wears the fishbowl more in the film. I don't need to see Jake's face.

Yeah, I agree. It was great seeing the fishbowl in the trailer briefly, but I hope to see a lot more of it in the film. It's a very striking and unique part of his costume.
