For My Daughter... Anne of Green Gables

I feel a little odd posting this amongst custom superheroes and such... but oh well...

My daughter has always had a flare for the dramatic, and this past fall she landed her first role in a children's theater production of the musical Anne of Green Gables. It was a small role but she worked really hard and gave a terrific performance.

For the downtime on set, she brought her new Mego Dorothy and Wicked Witch figures to play with... so I thought it would a fun Christmas surprise to make her a Mego representation of Anne as well.

That is awesome!! Our local community theater just did a bang up job with that production as well. I tried to convince my son (our family's budding thespian) to join in that cast, but he was not familiar with the story and did not want to join in. Insert eyeroll for (pre)teenage nitpicking.

Some of our good friends were cast in the production, tho. I should show them your awesome custom.

I like that very much, and your daughter looks like she does, too. It's great to see that she enjoys theatre--I hope she continues, it's enriched my life a lot.

It's also wonderful to see an atypical custom, something "off the beaten path." Not so much of that here anymore; I enjoy the unique figures just as much as genre offerings.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

My wife took a college course on Anne back in the day, great stuff! Never feel odd about creations like this.

Awesome to see a PEI custom on here. You should take your daughter to Cavendish to see the Anne tourist attractions. They're beautiful.

Cool project… you honored your daughter's work as a young practicing artist and made her smile with Mego; nothing odd about that!

What a wonderful gift! Way to go dad (and daughter for getting out there). My wife and daughter love Anne too.

Very nice custom idea, love seeing smiles on kids faces, reminds me of back in the day when I opened a Mego
                    under the Christmas tree.
