Remove Pins on new Mego female figures

Hi, in order to customize I need to remove knee pins on one of the new MEGO's (Jo) and replace with other lower legs. I have pushed on the pins pretty hard and they don't want to seem to come loose. I hate to push harder until I know that I am not just doing something wrong. Is there a trick to taking the legs apart at the knees for the new female figures?

    Thanks for any help.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use the entire leg??? I was looking at a New Mego female figure and they are strung just like the classic Mego male figures (Left Arm to Right thigh. Right arm to Let thigh). So swapping the entire leg from figure to figure would be simpler. But if you must swap at the knee joint, I would dunk the knee in some hot water to soften the plastic first before attempting to force the pin out.
    Best of Luck!
