    Revisting Mego’s Christmas Hits

Toytales does a fun countdown of some of Mego's greatest hits at Christmas time.
With iconic toy manufacturer Mego returning to toy shelves, we’re faced with the wonderful notion that for the first time in 35 years, children (and many adults) will unwrap Mego toys this Christmas. We thought it would be fun to look at just a few of Mego’s most popular Christmas items from their glory days.

That really brings back some great memories for me. My childhood lined up nicely with the height (IMHO) of Mego. I think getting the Batmobile is one of my earliest Christmas memories. Each holiday season would bring more Mego memories from POTA figures Mad Monsters to the Wayne Foundation. I drifted over to Atari towards 78-79, so I was gone by 2-XL. Childhood Christmas meant the 70's and Christmas in the 70's meant Mego for me!

Great list! I remember finding the Batmobile under the tree at a VERY young age!

YES! Great idea! Say, for that matter, could Mego Corp do a 8 inch scale 2-XL?

Neat! I had not heard of this site before. Thank you for sharing.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Fun list. I hadn't heard of 2-XL at all until I bought Bonavida's guide 20 years ago.

                    Fun for sure!

It’s funny how I never associated something like the 2-XL with the same company that made my beloved action figures.

Having a new Mego Spock on the scene Christmas morning will be a fun reentry into the collection.

Very cool list, I had no idea that the 2-XL was such a big seller for Mego.

I feel a bit ripped off, out of the three vehicles, I got the yellow boot, I mean the Batcopter, for Christmas when I was six years old. Oh well, I still loved playing with it (and still have it).

The Batcopter was the one I didn't ask for, I wasn't a picky kid but I think I was spoiled by the GI Joe Capture Copter.

Oh yeah, no comparison between those two copters! I don't recall asking for any of the Mego vehicles (not even sure if I was aware of them at the time!). My parents probably just saw it in the toy store and thought "Chris should like this, he likes Batman". My parents never exactly had their finger on the pulse of my toy wants, but hey, they tried.
