    12 inch Aquaman review

Started getting some of my Christmas haul in the mail today, and amongst one of them was the new 12 inch Aquaman. Lots of pics to give you an overview on the new packaging and figure.

The packaging comes in a new clamshell presentation...

It opens from the top, but is attached at the bottom. Note I had already taken him out, which is why you do not see the ties. In this instance there was one around his neck and both feet along with the tag tie at the top.

So in all, the packaging is composed of the folding clamshell, one piece insert, backer card, and figure tray.

Aquaman is a well translated 1/6 scale version of his 8 inch counter part and fellow peers.

The joints are firm, but the body is not tight so it holds poses quite easily.

I was very impressed with the up-scaling on the head here. It really didn't lose anything in translation and the paints are nicely applied.

Some interesting choices on the outfit. They went with the canvas style shorts which does make for a great translation. Wary a bit on long term durability though.

The rest of the outfit is identical to the 1/9 scale version and fits the figure in this scale nicely.

I was going to remove his outfit to show the body, but he's pretty well stitched in at the waist. So with consideration given for that material on the shorts, I was not going to push it.

Overall a very nice figure. The new packaging is appreciated, in that it's not the traditional space killer others in that scale have been (like KISS). So this is a good first look at what is to come. Given how well this translated up, I'm personally excited to see how the RC Batman turns out.

Wow, great review, thanks! Very comprehensive, and you increased the likelihood that I'll go in on these.

I really like their packaging on this. I'm buying one of these to create my fantasy "Parkdale Novelty" Aquaman.

I really like the minimalist packaging -- very collector friendly. I usually throw away the packaging due to space considerations, but no need with this one.

Thanks for the great pictures and review! I'm very impressed with how well the figure upscaled. I wasn't thinking of buying any of this line but now I am.

Yes, and nice to see the packaging, too! I've the same concerns about the trunks, though.

This could very well be the coolest figure I’ve seen in 2018. Truly a dream come true figure for me. Always loved the 12 inches and the thought of adding Aquaman with my Supe and Bats gives me goosebumps.
Thank you for the amazing review. Definitely getting this toy in the new year.

Thanks, MIB41! They did a very nice job.

The packaging is really nice and really shows off the figure. It's too bad these are not mass market, because the packaging is perfect for it.

The upscale turned out really nice. It makes me excited to get the RC Batman.
