Some of my favorite commercials were actually NOT for my favorite toys. I was such a TV kid, I was always attracted to certain commercials because I liked the little mini-story even more than the products.

Along with the Battleship above, another game I always remember was-
        WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

This commercial got really excited AND it never became embittering as the toy actually does what it did in the commercial-
          WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.

                Yes she does.
First thing that came to mind when I saw the image. Of course the voice is nothing similar, but the look is uncanny.

Sounds like channel 43 (WUAB) in these parts.
Early morning they had Kimba, after school was Marine Boy, Speed Racer, Munsters, Adams Family, Ultraman, Johnny Soko, Little Rascals, Mickey Mouse club, etc. Not all at once, they would kind of rotate through them filling a block of time from like 3-6, or 7 every day.

Oh, don't get me started on WUAB-43 in the '70s. Superhost? Batman every weekday afternoon, Star Trek, Bewitched, Wild Wild West. That station was as integral to my childhood as comics and the library. Nice to hear you mention Johhnny Sokko, as well.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

                          Nice! Awesome commercial.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Love that commercial and played the hell out of that game when we had it.

Man, you guys are hitting all the classics. The He-Man and GI Joe...wow. But Mighty Men and Monster Makers...I didn't remeber it until he said "very nice"!

Dark Tower was a big commercial. That was Welles in his "serve no wine until it's time" period.

                                But probably the most influential...
