So many good commercials! I liked the MEGO Planet of the Apes Forbidden City but never got that one or any apes. But my favorite commercial for a toy was the AT Gijoe one with bugle. You gotta get out your Gijoe, Copters waiting it's time to go....... I would run to my room grab joe and play along with commercial. If I missed it, I waited and it would come on again! It's at 1:30 mark lots of Joe commercials on this link.

Maybe not my childhood favorite, but no one can deny the universal appeal of the kid shouting "WAMPA!! WAMPA!!" in the creature's own voice.

I didn't remember most toy commercials before youtube.

I want to go through and watch them.

I mainly discovered new toys by finding them in the stores.

One of my favorite finds was walking into the toy store and finding a Hoth Stormtrooper, it seemed like the best action figure ever created. It was so new and different, at the time, from all the other figures on the wall.

Another terrific MOTU commercial. As a neat bonus this one was obviously a commercial break in the Smurfs Christmas special from 1982. Which I remember watching.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

                I forgot about Batman!
                Usually showed 2 episodes, back-to-back.
I think they also showed the American version of Hilarious House of Frightenstein (cut to half hour episodes with an added laugh track)

One of my favorites, "amusingly enough"...

If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.

I realize this is not a specific TOY commercial but it is one of my favorite "toy-ish" commercials nevertheless. At one time this was the signal that Christmas was right around the corner... not unlike the Hershey's Kiss bell commercial.

Wonderful! I can't tell you how many games, etc. I begged for simply because of mellifluous Mr. Price as TV pitchman.

Yup, WNEW after school....this ad just felt like Christmas to me. I never saw it in color until I was an adult.

I have Stay Alive now and I clearly remember the commercial w/ the kids. I also have Hangman now, and I loved the bank commercial w/ Vincent Price.

Lastly, the Bionic Woman Beauty Salon. I got the doll for my 11th birthday in 1977 and got the salon Christmas that same year.
