CustoMego Creations #1: The Black Hood

Since our inception over 20 years ago, the MegoMuseum has always embraced custom figures. We the practice change and evolve but the most important thing was that we weren’t responsible, it was the community itself, people sharing their techniques, their findings, their recipes, their talents, their hacks and most importantly, their time.

CustoMego Creations is web series that serves a platform for our community of talented Mego makers and will hopefully inspire that creative energy in others.

what we plan to have is guest hosts each week sharing their skills and ideas. We’re starting with a small group but plan to expand after that and hopefully, get this to be a weekly series.

This Week’s episode we make a Black Hood from the Mighty Crusaders comic book series,. It’s an easy and fun one to make:

Well said. I think this is a great idea. As a longtime member, I appreciate the custom recipes a lot. It's been so inspiring to me, I'm not always good at thinking "outside the box." Some amazing things can be dome with kitbashing.

great idea, especially this sort of stuff that will make it easy to get into customs by kitbashing.

I saw this while watching YouTube on my TV last night, and I loved it. Great idea, and great first episode!

Thanks folks, the inspiration for this actually came from here, I looked at all the great tutorials guys like Matt Jaycox or Dave McCormick did and thought "we should keep doing this". So hopefully, I can create a steady stream of people who want to share an idea or a technique.

Almost the same recipe but swap purple for the black and you've got the Golden Age Kirby Sandman.

Off topic, slightly, but, with all of the scans out there now, I'd be thrilled if you helped produce a tutorial on how to assemble your own Dida Display.

Basic level works for me. I have kitbashed a few customs for myself in the past. Looking forward to more of these tutorials. Thanks Brain.

Marlo Thomas and her friend Rosey Grier had something to say about that:

Seriously, though, I suppose it's unrealistic to hope that Robyn would consent to sit down in front of the camera? Surely a couple of Museum folk have knuckled down and fabbed out a case or two - step up, brave crafters!

Indeed, step forward! I don't have a tremendous amount of skills to share.
