    Stereo Home Entertainment Bar

A bar that plays records? I finally found something I'd fight somebody for in a Black Friday line!

We have a PodCast! It's fun, please listen.

I love seeing the prices on old electronics ... 300 seems absolutely outrageous to me...

That's extremely cool. I dunno how sensible. given that it combines electronics, liquids, and inebriation.

Really? I recently paid $300 for just a turntable. And this one includes a bar, 8-track player, radio, speakers, etc. so it seems reasonable to me (both these days and in that era when electronics were more expensive anyway)

Good point, and combine that with having to cue up records when you are somewhat intoxicated. It's tricky, speaking from experience.

I keep thinking of what you do when something breaks, walk an entire bar into a repair shop?

that is soooo cool. I want one. now I will be on the hunt for one at estate sales.

as far as repairing it, it's really no different than bringing any console stereo from that era into a repair shop. my current one must way at least 100 pounds and is 6 feet long. I always have to get my son to help me carry it. but I love it, circa 1965 or so.....and it cost me $300.00 just to have the turntable repaired after I bought it an estate sale for $50

I've never had any type of console stereo (although they are tempting!), so just wondering if it is possible to easily remove the turntable on these? That would make taking it in for repairs much easier!

The perfect gift for the alcoholic audiophile.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Did I see something similar to this in the Amicius Vault of Horror segment with the "neat freak" in his groovy pad? It would feel right at home in an Italian Giallo film too, with a bottle of JB Whiskey.

Back then, for $300 it could include the booze.
