"A favorite movie?" Boy that's a tough one...most of us have MANY! But just off the top of my head..."Angels with Dirty Faces" is one of my all time favorites. An amazing cast: Jimmy Cagney, Pat O'Brien, Humphrey Bogart and The Dead End Kids!!sigpicComment

I don't know man, it was an easy choice for me. If you were Burgess Meredith in Time Enough at Last, what disc would you want to see survived? And that you couldn't watch 'cuz your glasses broke.Comment

^Stop it!! I've literally had nightmares of being in such a situation. My greatest fears are of blindness or a fire.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Just got back from the Fathom Events 40th anniversary screening of Superman, and that's a strong contender for me, oddly for many of the same reasons Hec listed Alien.
That or Wrath of Khan.Comment

Eraserhead is one of mine for sure. For me it's on a short list of movies that transcend normal movies for me because they're so iconic - like the original King Kong and The Wizard of Oz.
A way cooler and slightly older hippy girl told me about it in 9th grade and I went to a rep theatre to see it - mind blown.Comment

On my first viewing of Eraserhead I made it exactly half way through. Wasn't bored. Wasn't scared. Didn't think it was dumb. I simply had no context for it and was disoriented and unnerved by it. Not sure how long after I gave it another whirl, but it really dug in and has never unhooked itself from my brain.Comment

Jeez, where do you start. I guess my top 5 would be in no particular order:
Halloween
Gladiator
Alien
The Dark Knight
Minority Report
Some other favorites are:
Mutiny on the Bounty (Marlon Brando version)
American Graffiti
The Warriors
Planet of the Apes (obviously)
The Terminator
That rounds out my top 10Comment

Earlier in this thread I said that I could never pick a favorite and I still feel that way. However, if pressed I’d go vintage and choose The Best Years of Our Lives. If it’s on TCM or elsewhere, I always stop to watch it. I truly love countless movies, but that one always pulls me in.
- IanRampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?Comment
