Am I Correct in Assuming the Date is Wrong on this Photo?

This Long Island Newsday article says this is from a Toys R Us in 1985-



I know some Mego products stayed on the shelves into the 80's, but this seems unlikely. Given the stack of Marx Comanche Pass playsets in the background, maybe its 1975? And is that a POTA Treehouse I see, too?

yeah that's most definitely '75, you can see stacks of Treehouses behind the kid.

Yeah if it was '85 that kid would be holding a Transformer or a 3 3/4" GI Joe or a MOTU figure.

Photos of the Jem dolls in toy stores are so rare. Really, there seem to be like 2 in existence. So now there are 3! Outrageous!

I remember Olmec, Sun Man, and Pig Head. Knockoffs of Masters of the Universe. How neat to see the family behind the company that sold them. Not sure how long they lasted, as I suspect Mattel said "Uhhh, no..."

Yep. Definitely 1975. That’s the year Santa delivered that playset and all the crew members on Christmas morning. Great days.
