    Because it's a myth.
Byrne himself debunked this on his Byrne Robotics website.
    It's a fanboy fabrication.

        Hmmmm

Well I will say this, at Comic con eons ago, between 1999-2005, I saw walking on the floor some dude with some Byrne artwork, I stopped him and asked him about it, it was a SPLASH of Cap, Namor, Human Torch (Jim Hammond), Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman. and he told me it was something John was working on, that this was to have been a cover.

Was it for an Invaders/JSA? I always assumed the Batman/Captain America crossover was the Prequel to all of that. This all of course was before smartphones and I only had my portable camera with me and years later REGRET not remembering asking to take a picture of that art work.

        my 2cents.

I wish we could see it, I forgot to ask the guy in question, permission to take a photo of it, I have always regretted that!

Linking Byrne Robotics is akin to saying "Candyman" five times...
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I hope a JSA/Invaders crossover does become a reality at some point.

I would love to see a JSA/Invaders crossover, with the right creative team. Roy Thomas as the writer, somebody like Jerry Ordway as artist. But I can’t imagine it will ever happen. Marvel/DC crossovers seem to be a thing of the past.

Or at least until the House of Mouse decides to buy Warner Bros., too! LOL!
