Could Someone Please School Me on These Rubber Monsters?

Caught these little rubber (I'm assuming) fellas on the 'Bay and it's the first I've seen of them:

All bear the beastie's name and the letter K in raised letters:

Common as milk and I should have known about the brand for years? Any info would be much appreciated!

They're made by a company called Keycraft, or "K-Brand", makers of cheap pocket type toys since the 70's. They made all kinds of little things over the years. I believe those monsters are from the early 80's. There's a Mummy also...maybe more.

Looks like they're still around...not quite the same as they used to be though.

When we develop a new toy brand, we analyse; the consumer, retail environment and the ability to grow the range; amplifying impulse sales for our retailers.

Thanks for the swift and informative answer, enyawd! I'll need to go digging for more information now that I'm armed with the company name.

I was hoping to stumble on a compulsively thorough blog post, or maybe a brief piece in the Museum, but so far all I can turn up about the line is recent auction listings. Even a search of the company, under both names, has only led me to modern PR. Anybody have any other nuggets for me?

Here's some more pic lifts from the amusingly priced BIN assortments:

Wow, I've never seen a lot of these before, and some of them are pretty damn cool.

I know! I was pretty geeked to see a toy of that character.

Is the anthropomorphic elephant Ganesh? Usually, you see Ganesh with four arms, but sometimes two. Can't think of who else it could be, though.

                          The toy is named Rakshasa...

...but I've never seen one depicted as an elephant before.

Not sure what they were going for there, hah.
