Very nicely done! I always enjoy watching these educational videos on the vintage figures. It's always good to have context on how these characters were chosen and their journey through the Mego-verse.

That was a very entertaining video, and beautifully produced.

Why did they go with the circus strongman look for his outfit instead of the standard briefs look like the 66 Tv series and Filmation? That always bugged me.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Thanks for the Post you make me want to go out and buy another one. Back in 1977 I found a Tarzan Bend N Flex in my grandparents backyard!!! Along with the WC Fields battery checker. I ended up using that rubber Tarzan for a sideshow I built in my backyard and invited all my friends with tickets that my dad made for me.

Like the bodysuit, I've always been under the impression it was about aesthetic. As in, a naked figure with trunks and a knife looks really, really dam cheap compared to the other WGSH figures who are all decked out.

I actually really like the Tarzan figure, right down to his shaggy hairstyle and the body stocking.
I've considered picking up the FTC remake just to have him, but he's not really an essential character for me.
But I like the idea of mixing him in with the rest.
I wish FTC would do a Rima the Jungle Girl.
              Great video! Made me smile!

That would be my guess as well, the percieved value wouldn't be there.

Even Mattel felt the need to package Tarzan in deluxe sets.

I enjoyed that. I'm not sure I knew T2 Tarzans are harder to find than T1.

That was a nicely-done overview. I've always liked the Mego Tarzan head, if not the costume. And I really like the vintage packaging logo/colors. But the Bendy looks nice, and the "leopard" suit looks good on a T2 body without the unitard. If one gets a CTVT Tarzan and dresses him in the Korak loincloth with knife, bow, and quiver, it's a lovely figure.

That Italian ad is smashing, adding Safari AJ (my favorite) and leopard-men right out of the '40s Tarzan film.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

These are great. Loved the music choice too. I'm not a huge Tarzan fan, but I don't think there was a kid from our era who didn't swing from a tree branch doing the famous yell for the whole neighborhood to hear.

Great video and commentary, Mego Tarzan was a childhood favorite of mine, I remember getting him back in the day at the local mall Kresge's in the window box, and I still have it with both the window box and original knife with the H. K. initials on the back, still can't believe I never lost the black knife.

I have the type 2 which I didn't know was the more rarer, so thanks to all those involved in making this video.

He was the stuff of legend when I was a kid, my sister saw him but I never did.

Even as a collector, after the warehouse find, we couldn't find tarzan. It drove me nuts, I finally found a boxed one at a doll collector show in '87.

I was convinced he was really rare.
