    RIP Geoff Emerick...Beatles Engineer Extraordinaire

One of the men who made The Beatles GREAT has passed away. Geoff Emerick, one of the GREAT engineers of Abbey Road Studios, has passed away at the young age of 72 years old. THE engineer for all of the Beatles great albums. Geoff made things happen just by being given the go ahead to "experiment" within the confines of being one of the top engineers of his day. So sad...but the music he helped create will go on for many more generations to come. RIP Geoff.:

Wow...very sad, indeed. Wasn’t he just mixing the sound a few weeks ago at Paul’s Grand Certral Station concert...or was that his son?

    May he rest in peace.

I know he was at NYC's Iridium with Denny Laine a few months ago as a double bill. Geoff I think was either talking about his days with the Beatles or talking about his exploits as a top engineer at Abbey Road Studios back in the day.

Actually, I was off base with that. I now remember that Paul said it was George Martin’s son who was mixing the sound at Grand Central.
