3D Model of Mego Neck Plug?

    Hey folks!

I've been interested in experimenting with 3D printing for creating custom head sculpts more efficiently, and before I set off to try to make my own, I was wondering if anyone had already tried their hand at modeling a realistic Mego neck plug (just the standard plug with the mushroom-shaped bottom).

    Many thanks!

The "mushroom bottom" is a great design for squishy vinyl. But for hard plastic, I don't think it makes sense.

I'd recommend either the "button bottom" that can slot into an unscrewed Type S (if that is the body that you are targeting), or just a "straight cylinder" that is sized for the neck hole of the body you are using. I have tended to do the latter and it works great... but if it is a little loose, you can always wrap it once with some tape to snug it up.

Alright, thank you, sprytel! I ended up going with the cylinder for my test print last night, and it seems to have been a good fit!

I always wanted to see a threaded neck plug for resin heads.

Awesome! I'd love to see pics of what you come up with.

Here's a test print of a head, courtesy of my good friend Levi:

It's a tad bit rough, but with something this small, that's expected; it's nothing a little sanding can't help, though!

Hey all! I picked up the test print of the head from Levi's and fitted it into the body. Still trying to figure out if there are any scaling issues. Thoughts?
