Funko is mixing DCU with MOTU

This will likely excite some here:

They were trying to pull a hoax online that these are 1982 prototypes of some sort.

Yeah, I had to roll my eyes at that Pixel Dan video. I'm pretty much the target market for these MOTU knock offs. My advice to Funko is don't try to turn me off with stunts like this.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Yeah he posted that in a group I'm in. I didn't want to be negative but I also rolled my eyes. Pretty sure one of the guys in the Polaroid is wearing a fitbit.

Pixel Dan is an upbeat positive guy, so I hate to be negative about anything he does, but yeah...that was a bit much. If he'd did the reveal IN the video, it would have been fun. Teasing it out, was a bit off-putting.

Yikes! I’m happy that we never were presented with these when we were kids. I’d hate to have lost out on Super Powers for the likes of these.

Rampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?

              ^This, haha!

I didn't like MOTU then and I don't like MOTU now, but the ReAction variations have definitely given me an appreciation for the costume design.

Is this like a real thing? I love DC, and I love MOTU - but I'm not feeling this.

They would take getting used to. Some things look good in that style and others don't. They are a little weird, but a later addition could turn out cool, if it is something I'm not expecting.

Always loved the MOTU character designs, but disliked the barbaric wrestler form.

ReAction MOTU is my thing too.

Well Warlord was released by Remco in this genre... So its not a total fabrication.

I personally never warmed to the body style of these figures but if Mego licensed MOTU, I'd be drawn to them because of the character designs.

License issues aside could it even be done at Target's price point? Just for starters you would need a new more muscular base body. Then there are loads of characters like Ram Man, Clawful, etc. that would absolutely require unique tooling.
