That Igor sculpt looks so ridiculous... but then again, so does Marty Feldman.

        “ It's pronounced 'Fronkensteen."
Young Frankenstein Doctor Frankenstein Page Added to the MegoMuseum
Mego Dr. Frankenstein Young Frankenstein Dr. Frankenstein joins the previously released Igor in the Mego “Young Frankenstein” series of figures. This is Mego’s second figure based on Gene Wilder, the latter being Willy Wonka from Wave 11. Always keeping one foot in the past, Mego Corp has clearly used the labcoat used for the classic…Read more →

I like everything about that Dracula except the silver cape. If your not doing Lugosi there's no reason to go for screen accuracy with the colors. Might as well punch it up with bright retro colors.
              Joker looks sharp.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I don't mind the gray lining, on you tube I thought it was white and that was off-putting. But as you say, I think they could have used red, burgundy, or purple to good effect. I really like the figure.

I think not doing a long smock on Dr. Frankenstein is a real missed opportunity for Mego to do something different and distinct for the figure.

I would have gone with red. Because of all the artwork, toys and model kits when people think of Universal Dracula they expect a red lined cape. To heck with historical accuracy, it now seems weird without it. I'd also would have included the medal. Just too generic without it. It's a nice Dracula but doesn't really scream Universal Dracula.

I guess I didn't realize it was licensed. Isn't it the ring and medal that cements the license?

Somehow, this character scared me as a kid. I found it particularly creepy. I think I just peed my pants a little.
