That stretch of movies he made that started with "Smokey and the Bandit" and extending into the early 80s was some of the best fun I ever had going to see movies as a kid. Not saying they were great, but I remember really having a good time watching them. I think "Hooper" was the first film of his where they started rolling a blooper reel during the credits and it kind of became a calling-card for his movies. Those were always worth hanging around for. Burt Reynold's was an incredibly important part of my childhood and I am sad to see him gone.

Huge talent. Bruce Willis owes his career to the man by creating a space for the smart-***, non-martial arts, non-muscle bound action star. A true comedian. RDJ's Iron Man is Burt Reynolds.

I agree Maker. When he comes to mind, I realize how much I actually missed his work. Sad to lose, but he stayed out of the light for sometime.

I always loved Burt! He was a tale of two cities when it came to a movie career: the first half was great (Deliverance, Smoke and the Bandit), the second half (Malone, Stick) pretty much forgettable. He was excellent in the show "Evening Shade." What an actor!

I always felt connected to him in Deliverance, because my Dad always loved that movie, and it was the number 1 film on the day I was born. RIP.

Burt Reynolds made a great impact on the world. He even showed up on The X-Files.

I'll not forget Win, Lose Or Draw.

So many movies of his that I watched with family were good.

Watched any of his movies when on the old TV.

I liked certain style of sport's cars because of him.

                          Thanks, Burt!

                          RIP Burt Reynolds.
