I'm alright with that, I like this take on Batman, we can go see Iron Man and Speed Racer together instead.
Yeah, that's what my wife said. I guess the only Batman flick that's been really kid friendly was Batman and Robin, and who wants another frozen turdsicle like that?

Personally, I really dislike the idea that Batman (and several other) properties that were developed for the enjoyment of kids are being slowly taken away from them and turned into an "adults only" thing. While I agree that "Batman and Robin" wasnt the answer, I still think some kind of happy medium could be found that was engaging for adult audiences, yet really , are done for and aimed directly at kids. At the pace they are going, Batman and his ilk are soon going to be the lone providence of old men. When we die off, so does Batman....Kinda like Oldsmobile. Make cars for geezers and watch your market die with them.

It's one movie, I find it funny how they show a picture of this:

And everyone cries it's "too kiddie" and now the movie is too adult. They can co-exist, I know I'll watch both...

Yeah, I can't say there isn't Batman material out there for kids. It seem DC/WB is addressing that even more with the Super Friends line of toys and comics and B&B animated.

I'm just thinking how bummed I'd be if my Dad told me I couldn't go to a Batman movie at 6 years old.

I've got the same thing going on here, although my son was less caring about it than i thought.

Just FYI, from the usually dead-on Batman-on-Film:

Our insider "Slappy The White Dog" is back with some excellent and interesting insight into today's leak:
“Thought ol' Slappy should sniff his way in with a little insight into what has found its way onto the Net.

It's real, however it's one of the very early concept designs (remember what I reported to you regarding the look of The Joker before that was public knowledge? This image of Two Face is from around the same period of early design tests). Just like the early concept design of The Joker largely informed the final look, it wasn't dead on (i.e. They decided to retain the purple suit rather than the raggedy, pieced together costume, etc), but certain elements carried through to the final screen version (The “Cut Smile“).

In the case of this particular design, it's closer to what you'll see than that early Joker design was, but it's not a good representation of what it looks like on camera (and, as I alluded to above, it's not *exactly* what the screen look is). It's not really what you'll see in the movie, but the general idea is still very much intact.

I don't mean to be overly cryptic, but I know that a lot of people are trying to retain the surprise of the Two-Face look, and this concept art doesn't properly represent what Aaron looks like onscreen.”

So there you go. We won't be as spoiled as we thought we had been when it comes to Two Face.

I personally never complained I thought it was too kiddie. My complaint was I am tired of the animation designs looking the same.

I'm all for kid friendly super hero toons. The 90s Batman animated series was a perfect example of both kid safe and not too silly for adults. Also at the time the animation designs were very fresh. But now I'm tired of it all looking so similar and stylized.

I've mentioned before I'd love to see animation designs like the last season of the Hanna-Barbera Super Powers and the Ruby Spears Superman.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I wasn't addressing you specifically on that, I have heard it quite a bit though.

As for animation style, that's all about preference, I'm honestly not fond of Superpowers but to each his own.
