Star Trek Discovery Season 2 - The New Spock

    Ethan Peck

Not sure about the look, but he's possibly got the most important trait; the voice.

EDIT: So, I guess he was up for Batman at some point. He fits what Reeves has said...

I had to stop the video after the first minute because the whole interview situation feels really uncomfortable.
But I'm interested to see him as Spock.
Personally, I like Zachary Quinto as Spock too.
This is kind of like having Henry Cavill as movie Superman and Tyler Hoechlin as tv Superman (on Supergirl).
I ended up really liking both actors in the Super role and their different takes on the character.
So hopefully Peck does his own thing with Spock and still makes him classic.

He seems like a logical choice...I really like his voice and look.

It's just weird that they're doing another reboot of this era and recasting after less than a decade of Quinto.

I'm looking forward to watching him as Spock.

As soon as I read about him being in the role, I could hear the MST3K guys saying 'Gregory Peck', I think it was on an astronaut movie they were watching.

Somebody for Discovery watched TOS and realized Nimoy's strength was in his tenor because the character's actions have to be so reserved. That was my issue was Quinto; right look but sounded way to modern for me. His Spock voice was effected and didn't sound natural. Much like Tuvok.

I could really see Peck as Wayne/Batman now. He could actually mimic Conroy's delivery and make it work.

Interesting actor, but that show is eecchhh. If you listen without watching, it's excruciating.

I couldn't get passed the first episode. Not trying to be negative but, shouldn't it at least resemble Star Trek for it to actually be Star Trek?

Oh, I haven't watched it because of the streaming channel exclusivity. It's that bad?

If this guy's up for Batman, that's a bit of Kismet, since Dave Mazzuchelli "cast" his grandfather as Bruce Wayne in Batman: Year One.

^That's right. I forgot Peck was the model for Y1. I remember that was the choice for Ross. Good lord, Kingdom Come was practically photocopy of Peck.

Hedji - the tonal shift for Discovery is bizarre. The idea that this was the birth of the mirrorverse should have been incorporated by the producers. It would have made sense of all the off-kilter decisions.

Oh yeah, old Bruce Wayne was definitely based on Peck as well...based on Mazzuchelli's previous casting.

And Alex Ross cast him in Kingdom Come as old geezer Batman.
