I have stopped trying to justify my dislike of TLJ. Just as many people feel they need to defend "Star Wars", so must I.
I love SW just as much as everyone here, and Luke in particular. As Luke "grew up", so did I. And I hate what was done to the character, so I point firmly at the writer/director for that. The whole thing just doesn't make sense, and is out of character.
That said, I'm looking forward to EP9, and I am hoping that JJ will "make it right". He's not the best SW director, but he respected the concept, and made logical choices.
I'm open to any new SW, and actually liked Solo a lot. So let's see what happens...
