A bedroom in a galaxy far, far away

I simply can't look at Star Wars bedspreads and not be happy, it's Pavlovian.

Unless said bedspread has Ewoks on it, of course, then I fly into a murderous rage for days shouting "CLEANING WOMAN!" the whole time at the top of my lungs. I should probably speak to somebody about that.

I had those sheets as a kid. Not the rest of the bedroom set, just the sheets and pillowcases.

I like Ewoks and for all the crap they get, they always sold. You never saw Ewoks warming the pegs with the likes of General Nadine, Rancor Keeper, Bib Fortuna, etc.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Yeah, i was delving into sarcasm over fan outrage. I really don't fly into murderous rages over Ewoks, that's all reserved for prequel merchandise like any healthy person.

That's very cool. In an era far, far away.

Those were my bed sheets for my entire childhood. Now it serves as a throw over top of the love seat in my man cave.

Very cool. I had a different set of SW bed sheets as a kid. Still have them stored in the linen closet.

                      Nice star-cruiser port-hole window!

I got the humor of your post. I was commenting on that too. I didn't mean to direct it at you. I apologize for not being more clear.

Yeah, for all the supposed fan hatred over the Ewoks the little critters always sell like crazy. I remember the original Kenner Wicket was really hard to get because of his popularity and the TRU 2012 Hasbro multipack with Kneesa was a real hassle to hunt down.

Honestly, I was worried somebody would take me seriously.

I never saw them as failures, I mean I did not like this direction as a 12 year old but yeah, the merch sold and I watched it sell.

It was just my first experience noticing crass commercialism, it was certainly there before but I just hadn't been paying attention. Also, I hadn't seen anything yet.

I totally get that. SW had always been about merchandising first and story telling second. Jedi was just the most blatant about it, at that time. Even after now knowing all that, I still like the Ewoks. I think they are cute. That's why I don't begrudge the Porgs in the new movie.

I actually kind of blame Yoda in hindsight.

He was a muppet and we embraced him with open arms, self included. I had to have his action figure and his house and no end of other merchandise. It must have given Lucas ideas. So it's crass commercialization tempered with giving the audience more of something they liked.
