The Namath figure is being produced because Joe Namath is coming to SDCC and it's an exclusive specifically for this event. It's not for kids or the mass market.

It's a promotion and it's a pretty clever one considering you buy it and it gets signed, instant collectible.

Marty spoke of it at Mego Meet and to me, it's typical old school Mego marketing.
That's a shrewd move. It will have strong second-market value because the buyers at hand are not sports collectors.

Just my take y'all. I don't mean to sound negative. I'm not really. I just want this launch to work and see some top drawer figures put out. FTC needs the competition. The price is too high and some of the quality is too low. again just my take.
Right now FTC has nothing to worry about as far as competition from Mego...especially to start

Either you have an inside scoop, or you have no idea.

This figure makes perfect sense...but the scale doesn't.

Brings back memories of "the-player-on-the-other-side"; not good memories, though.

Wow. Forgot about him. Did we ever get a clear answer as to what that was about? Was he a legit FTC flunky or a straphanger?

He was not in their employ.

You are literally talking to one of the few people that does know what it is coming out. If anyone knows what is going on, it's Palitoy.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Well for me if new mego wants to star off with Joe Namath then that's fine, but it's a (pass) for me, no pun intended.

Besides I'm a Patriots fan, why the hell would I want a New York Jerks Joe Namath doll? heck I wouldn't even want a
Tom Brady doll either, when I think Mego I'm not thinking sports athletes.
