I don't own one but he was probably 12.5". I remember it being tall.

This 14" is a new scale.

I don't really remember the first figure. It was just for boys, I think. My mom used to get me Dinah mite, Barbie, etc.

This might be a fun figure, if only to explain to the grandkids who he is.

Now I just have to locate a 14" scale fur coat....

Tonner just about HAS to have one!
Expectation is the death of discovery.

              Captain and Tennille weren't available?

That would, obviously, not sell to the mass market. But it's a nice nod the company's history and makes sense as a limited exclusive.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Online, (not so much here) people are reading a lot of weird things into this.

The Namath figure is being produced because Joe Namath is coming to SDCC and it's an exclusive specifically for this event. It's not for kids or the mass market.

It's a promotion and it's a pretty clever one considering you buy it and it gets signed, instant collectible.

Marty spoke of it at Mego Meet and to me, it's typical old school Mego marketing.

Is there any information on how much it will cost, or the production number?

That's pretty cool info right there, the problem is how many people will try to buy multiples
and then turn around and sell on eBay for big bucks, because of the included autograph?

People who can't make it to SDCC and want this will end up probably paying three times the original price.

So, did they spring for the NFL license this time, so he could be clothed in an authentic uniform and helmet ? Or will it be a generic white and green uniform and a helmet with a "Joe Namath" logo instead of "Jets"?
I can understand why this won't be a wide release; I can't imagine it would be a very good seller at regular retail outlets. Having it as a Con exclusive, with Namath in tow for autographs, makes sense. I hope they make a small number available to anyone interested who can't make it to ComiCon, though, maybe via internet sales.

I think people "me" are reading that this is the first figure and nothing else was mentioned. Lets call it what it is. Joe is very old news and few really care except for aged sports fans. Marty should've also mentioned other lines being released or just kept it on the down low until all releases are to be mentioned.
Just my take y'all. I don't mean to sound negative. I'm not really. I just want this launch to work and see some top drawer figures put out. FTC needs the competition. The price is too high and some of the quality is too low. again just my take.

I am not sure people remember him except old football fans . Old sports stars are a weird
choice for modern megos and a big pass for me.

Everyone seems to forget about Namath's feud a few years back with one of the Jets QBs. Was all over ESPN. So some people know who he is.
