    My latest model...the Mummy's Ghost!

Painted and photographed by yours truly,
this is probably my favorite Mummy kit of all time.

A whopping 1/2 scale and weighing about 6 pounds. Sculpt by Jeff Yagher.

Looks better than Chaney himself. I also like the Glo-Heads vibe.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I hadn't notice the hairline before!

That's really wild to see so vividly. Chaney's features combined with certain elements like the upturned nose and hair adds an imprint. Like Larry Talbot was mummified but now caught in mid-transformation.

I think it's a little more Chaney than the actual film, because I believe Jack Pierce used a rubber mask by this point. Chaney hated the Mummy makeup and wanted something faster and easier.

Great job Dwayne. Looks like it came right off a movie set.

Everything about this is awesome, from the kit to the pain to the photography. Well done!

Now that you mention it, I remember reading that. Didn't Pierce lament this lead to a drop in aesthetics?

Yeah, Pierce wasn't thrilled with the result. Personally I think it looks fine in the film because a one eyed, mute Mummy isn't going to do a whole lot of emoting anyway. I agree with Chaney on this one.

Spending eight hours in makeup just to shamble around the Universal backlot in medium to long distance shots made little sense.

True. It's not as if they were budgeting for Karloff by this point anyhow.

Bob Burns owns one of the original Chaney Mummy masks...it's the only surviving piece of Jack Pierce's work. I think it's from Curse.
