This is definitely a sanitized version. At least judging by the trailers. Not that there's not a good story to tell in a sanitized version, but I honestly think the darker aspects, would be more interesting. This makes it like some Nazi dudes beat him up in a bar and seem to gloss over the cross dressing, repressed tendencies and frankly at times creepy elements of the real guy. Which is a shame, because that was the stuff that really made the story interesting because it was a peel back the curtain moment on a very real, flawed and fragile human being.
But whatever, he's probably getting a good payday out of it and this will highlight toys in a fun way which will probably help the hobby as a whole.
