    folks who are interested might want to check out Ron Kasman's Tower of Comic Book Freaks, a fictionalized memoir about the New York comic conventions of the seventies.



    There is a character in it that graphic novel might be a thinly altered version of her.

          And there are layers to that story that go beyond the obvious first-take "ewwww" of grown ups leering at a young teen. The wrath of fandom and a pushy mom play into that story, as well, and it makes me feel bad for a kid that had something she may have had an interest in, get co-opted and turned into way more than she should have ever had to deal with.
