    Magnum P.I. reboot

I was a big fan of the original show, so when I heard CBS was rebooting it, i was interested.

But after watching this trailer.. UGH.

What a train wreck. Sorry - FERRARI wreck

I just don't see the point of this "reboot".
The charm of the original, at least for me, was the cast: Tom Selleck (now the NY Police Commmissioner on "Blue Bloods") and the late John Hillerman, along with Larry Manetti and Roger E Mosely. Why not just come up with an original concept and roll the dice?

I actually saw an episode of the original on Cozi last a Sunday evening. It was still very enjoyable.

This looks like a stinker. Then again, I’m so out of touch, it may end up having a lot of appeal and be a bit for CBS.

Rampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?

actually if they called it something else it might work better. Calling it a reboot when it really only has the character names in common with the original, won't work.

          Blasphemy!!

It'll probably do ok though. I thought for sure Hawaii 5-O would tank and look at that. I'll not be on board though. Warlock was right, the original was a hit based on the charm of the cast. This doesn't appear to have any of that. Especially the appeal of the boyish Tom Selleck.
Don't get me started on the secret agent hot female Higgins. Odds are there is a romance which is 100% wrong.
          No just no.

Tough to replace the charm of Tom Selleck, but it looks fine. I mean, fans of Fast And Furious type stuff will probably like it. I doubt I'll watch it.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

I loved the original, and I do try to give rebooted franchises a shot, but this, this looks bad. Based on the trailer, I can't see even investing one hour in this.

My favorite show of the 80's and for the reasons everyone else here has already stated. I won't lose an hour of my life watching this "reboot".

In the 80's the only cop show I watched was Cagney & Lacey

Miami Vice was the 80's, hands down the best 80's cop drama ever, the music, fashion, cars etc.

Magnum PI was second, for its Hawaiian sceneries and pretty decent script writing.

Miami Vice was eye candy. Hill Street Blues way more realistic, superior acting, and critically acclaimed, it’s not even close.

As I said before...I could care less about Magnum PI. Was never my cup of tea. I’d rather see you physically kicking me on the face...
