any vintage Kenner SW people out there?

I still have my 12 original figures from the first Star Wars movie.
Checking on the 'bay there are some pretty huge price differences for the "farmboy" Luke figure...
Can anyone tell me if mine is a common version or something else?
I have all the weapons too except for the Death Squad Commander's pistol (which I think was the same as a Stormtrooper gun)

I also have the white TIE fighter and Landspeeder, both in vg condition

Looks like you have the double telescoping Luke, early bird version... If interested in selling, let me know!

is "early bird" the mail away one?
maybe, but I have no recollection of that. I only recall my mom buying me the carded figures from the toy store.
it was a loooooooooong time ago, though...

yes, early bird was the 4 figure mail away, Luke, R2, Leia and Chewbacca... a few Luke Double sabers got out on cards as well, even some of the early bird kits got some regular 1 piece sabered figures as well

          ok
is there any way to distinguish the 4 early bird figs from the same carded ones?

My brother has a Double Telescoping Luke Skywalker, and we did NOT get the Early Bird kit. His was definitely off the card.

I'm not sure if there's a way to distinguish between a carded one and an Early Bird one.

Whoa, DT farmboy Luke, nice! Doesn't matter if that came from an early bird set or off the card, it's still $$$.

yeah, there are some DT Lukes on card. Pretty awesome figure and super early in the production run. So cool that you were able to hang onto it all these years and that the saber is pretty much intact. I have all my original figures, tho those first 12 are not in so fine of shape as my final POTF ones.

I believe the Early Bird Chewbacca's bowcaster had a greenish tint.

Whatever you do,don't use the term "farmboy Luke" around Star Wars Junk. Dude will pop a gasket. Posted a video on YouTube awhile back doing so.

                        Very nice!

I've had several DT Lukes over the years, and would love to have another one. I've had them loose and in the early bird tray sealed in the bag. They were most definitely available carded as were double telescoping Vader and Kenobi, which are much harder to find.

If you're interested in a trade of some sort, I have a bunch of vintage 1960's-70's trade stuff available in my link below, and have a ton more if interested.

Yes it does when you hold it up to the light.

Yes, that is a rare Luke, I never found the double telescoping lightsaber in reality.
                            ---------------------

In the early 1980's, I found an extra Chewbacca bowcaster on the sidewalk in front of a grocery store, so I took a razor blade and cut the front lower stock off of the bowcaster to make it look more like a blaster rifle, then attached it to Boba Fett's right hand. Ha!, Ha! It seemed cool at the time.
