    The Mad Titan Cometh!

In less than a week the Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters so, what better way to signify the biggest superhero movie event of 2018 than with a custom figure of the epic villain expected to challenge Earth's Mightiest Heroes beyond their limits.

The Mad Titan Thanos was created by Jim Starlin who was inspired by the Freudian concept of Thanatos, humanity's desire for death and self-destrcution. Thanos first appeared in The Invincible Iron Man #55 in December of 1972, the villain would go on to appear sporadically in issues of Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock. Then, in 1991, he was featured in a cross-over event that cemented him in the annals of Marvel's already impressive array of villains.

That cross-over event, as some of you probably have already guessed but for those who don't, was The Infinity Gauntlet. A six-issue limited series that spilled over into issues of Silver Surfer, Doctor Strange, The Incredible Hulk and Quasar to name a few.

It is from this event that I have based my build of Thanos, as have previous customizers before me have. This is my take on him.

    THANOS:

HEAD - eBay seller (RIP) with my paints.
BODY - Dr. Mego muscle body.
COSTUME - Sewn together by my wife, Cindy. Patterned and cut by me.
INFINITY GAUNTLET/GLOVES - Dr. Mego knight gloves cast in gold by the good Doctor himself (Thanks Doc!) with Infinity Stones/acrylic gems from Michael's

As always, I thank you all for giving him a look.

    Enjoy!
    John
