Anybody doing Record Store Day Tomorrow

I was pretty much sworn off (we have only two stores in the region and it's a long line for nothin') but the wife has a wish list.

So I'm going to stand in one line, while she stands in another.

Anybody else going? Anything you're excited about?

The only RSD release that really interests me is Celtic Frost's "Tragic Serenades" EP picture disc. But I have a family get together tomorrow, I probably won't have time to hit a record store so I guess I'll likely be sitting it out this year.

I love the Dr Who soundtrack releases, but there's no way we'll see those here.

I'm in for it. Got about 10 on my list. The Kinks, Circle Jerks, Tangerine Dream, The Smithereens, Linkin Park, Chainsaw Kittens and a few others.

I found the best route for RSD a few years ago. I only check 3 stores and go late - zero lineup - and still got the album my buddy wanted me to get, which was some oddball Residents LP.

I was kinda interested in getting the Shocking Blue Singles 2XLP, but it was $50, so I passed. Nothing else really grabbed my interest this year. Still, I had fun digging.

We went to one place at about 1 in the afternoon, and they had everything on my list. I gave them an earful for ruining record store day for me, since my RSD tradition is to spend the day fruitlessly going from store to store and *****ing.

I hit an estate sale and picked up 10 LP's for $14 and am far happier with it

The Gary Stewart Motown 7" was the only item I purchased, although it probably would've been better to wait for a release which includes all of those recordings in one place. I miss the days of RSD exclusives released by Kufala, particularly the Crowded House live concert box set.
