Really the only thing that would get me interested again would be for Mego Corp to rise from the ashes with a true license to create Marvel Megos... and hopefully eventually take the DC license as well. Would love to see them created with actually good head sculpts, non-baggy costumes and bodies that don't suck.

Before I get my hopes too high, are we talking about the return of the real Mego toy company selling mass market toys to regular brick and mortar stores? Because being able to by Megos at Kaybee again would be AMAZING!! Or is this just like a brand name being used for retro products for someone like Diamond Select?

I don't think we will ever see mego figures return in that level. Any company that tries fails because the mass market just isn't there. You have two options create cheaply made figures and rehash and reuse lots of parts ala FTC or create collector level figures that are worth paying extra for. Its why the captain action relaunch failed in Toys R Us, but yet Sideshow style figures are still going strong. The market for Megos is collectors. The market for captain action is collectors. They have to make it work for that market.

Wouldn't it be great if not only Mego came back, but the original sticker prices too. But I guess you'll need

MEGO Corp just updated it's Facebook profile with the new official name MEGO Corporation and logo!

REAL MEGO is back! Cannot wait for news!

^ Previous to that they updated with a Micronauts image, but I was under the impression Hasbro now had the Micronauts rights, so I am not sure what the relationship between the updates on their page and the upcoming announcement is. I am hopeful, but trying not to let my expectations get too high.
