    Mom's strike back

I'd like to go back in time and change my mum's subscription from "Canadian Living" to "Woman's Day", it seems like the "Cool mom" magazine.

Still have both the articles for the Star Wars and Empire playsets. We never duplicated them or got the official blueprints, but we mimicked a lot of it. Incredible inspiration for adding to your own imaginative play value!

There's a Dagobah version in Woman's Day as well. I really wanted to build both of them.

        Here's more info on them.

See that "Personnel Launcher" in the second picture? I was obsessed with trying to make that. It involved stretching a piece of rubber balloon over an embroidery hoop. I think I remember sort of getting it to work, but it wasn't quite as springy as suggested in the pic.

Man, I wish I'd known about these back in the day. Empire Strikes Back toys were my last hurrah before the tween years really kicked in and I moved on from toys. I used to love setting up displays of stuff, and this Hoth setup would have been dynamite.

Wasn't there a Mego Hero City or Headquarters that featured in Woman's Day or Redbook?

                I remember some of those.
I also remember being very jealous of people who had so many extra figures that they could make these things.
Because I sure wasn't getting any.

Are there two "personal launchers" on the Hoth playset, or is that lower disk something else?
