FTC's (ClassicTVToys)Customs Page--How do you feel about this?

Me, I'm two ways about it:
    1. It's nice that they showcase their fans ( ie. customers) work on their website, showing what you can do with their items.
    on the other hand
    2. I feel it can be a situation where they use it for their monetary gain, and the customers don't get anything for it.

I think it's kind of odd that they showcase custom figures, many of which do not use ANY CTVT parts.

No guarantee that any of the people posting their customs are customers at all, which is just weird to me.

That one with the Dinah Mite Ski Chalet is kind of creeping me out. And are those original Mego Dukes in with those customs?

I had previously assumed that only people who emailed in their pics would be shared on the site. Since Roberto's figures are featured prominently,he can hopefully confirm this. But hey, if customizers choose to share their work with CTVT... I don't see any problem with it. Like you say, it is another way to showcase your work. (And I suspect there are few in the Mego customizing community who aren't some sort of customer of CTVT). Now, if they are posting customizers' images without consent, that would be a problem...

^^ I wondered about that aspect of it, not sure why they would post figures that use none of their product

I can't say 100% but it's been my assumption that they have promoted figures that customizers have submitted. I am guessing that all of the figures utilize something from their inventory even if it's not obvious.

I view it merely as a nicety, sure it helps promote using their products to reach such means but they don't have to do it and it's not exploitative in anyway.

It's interesting. If I was a guy who only knew about FTC and not much about other aspects of the Mego Community, I might be confused that I couldn't buy the parts that made the customs I'm looking at.
Still, that will probably change over time with more people being inspired to make customs who haven't before. Then they will post their work that uses FTC parts.
I actually think it could result in more people ending up here.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

The Bonaza figures at the bottom are mine, I also posted them here. a few years back when I sent the pics to FTC it was mostly because I used their clothes and accessories, it was basically submit your pics for customer viewing.
