Ads like this totally captured my imagination as a kid!
While I certainly hauled my toys out in the yard as a kid, it never quite lived up to the magic in the ads. (I guess it would have helped if I had a 4" deep mini-ravine in my backyard.) But even now, I look at that picture and I want to be out there playing with those guys...
True. I see them on ebay every so often, particularly seller Calijeff. I wonder if she falls apart like the other muscle-style figures?
Yes, they fall apart, at least their arms. Here's one of them ("Super Peggy"):
It seems that the legs are still ok.
And the hands are still attached, but lost their flexibility.
I bought some of the Action Team figures and clothes in the late 70s (or early 80s?) when they were discontinued.
The remaining stock was sold off very cheap at our "Aldi" store.
I would sometimes use them as companions for the 12" Star Wars figures (of which I had only 3 back then).
I remember that "Super Sandy" then had to be Princess Leia and "John Steel" was Han Solo .
