My $5 grail from Columbus Toy Show

As I was making one last pass during tear down, this caught my eye. To be more precise I almost cracked my neck I stopped so fast. I have had versions of this over the years to replace the one sold off in childhood. I originally got it on a trip to the grocery store with my grandparents, and it served in many Mego adventures. This one is the exact one, same box and everything, and never played with. I couldn't resist asking for a price, and I couldn't get the $5 out fast enough. None of that "Hmmmm, will you take $4?"crap.

It was a great show. I also picked-up 10 Mego figures and several jumbo machinders in various states, but the car is the jewel.

That’s awesome man! My brother had a blue one and mine was a gold/tan color. Exact same box as this too. Brings back memories.
I remember my Dad would give me those War Amps keychains that look like lisence plates. Oh, sweet memories

There is nothing more satisfying than tracking down a childhood friend for less than a tenner.

Is this the same car, in blue, that is featured in the '80s JC Penney's catalogue with various Megos?

Very cool pick up, I think Peter Parker would look good driving around in this baby or maybe Action Jackson.

This car kind of reminds me of the Bratz cars that also fit the Mego's well.

I think it is. Gay Toys issued a lot of their stuff in different colors. I have never had both side-by-side though to be sure.

It looks very similar, if not identical--but with variant stickers on the hood. I had that car and Captain America from that ad. I added star stickers on the vehicle for Cap.

I'm glad you nabbed it at such a great price.
