I remember buying a loose gallon baggie filled them at my local antique shop for $5.00 and to my surprise when I opened the baggie, hiding in the middle was a Dusty ..... Really cool figures
Those I liked because they reminded me of the LJN figures.
I'm not a big Wrestling fan... but always had a thing for those LJNs that I still never collected any of...
Never collected those LJNs because, I suppose, I subconsciously always have liked the whole "good vs. evil" colorful character roster of those particular years (what some call the "Rock N Roll Wresting" era)... but I never came to terms with my subconscious desire to collect those characters.
Recently, I started collecting the Mattel figures, but ONLY ones from that era (or thereabouts: 1984-1986??? One my main checklists is the attendants of the Land Of A Thousand Dances music video)... since many of them have not been made by Mattel, I use Jakks' more out-of-scale versions for characters I'd really like to fill gaps.
Still no LJNs or old school Hasbros though.
Although... those Hasbros.... just like the LJNs make for a good checklist too... just like that music video.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
