RIP. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't acknowledge that we had disagreements, but I never wanted anything bad to happen to him.

I wasn't familiar with the man. A dealer, I'm guessing? Would someone be so kind as to write out some sort of bio.

To be honest I know many people had some issues with Russ, I was not a MM Member back than but most people know or heard all the stories. I only dealt with him via email, sometimes FB and Ebay and was lucky enough to never have any issues with him. As far as talent goes - he sure had a lot of it (IMO)

Rest in Piece Russell Pittman - very sad to hear this news but also grateful for all you have done for us Mego Collectors. Thank you for all the Awesome Heads - my collection just would not have been the same without you. Your work was Amazing and you were a true pioneer of the hobby and you will be missed.

Russell was a polarizing figure for sure. We were good friends for several years then had a falling out over some of his business practices, only to re-connect again the past few years (although nothing like it was earlier). Russ' biggest problem was probably over-estimating his strengths and turning a blind eye to his weaknesses...which I guess is most of us.

Russ was not in good health when I knew him several years ago and would visit him in Memphis at his home. I believe his father had died at an early age and he was afraid he would as well. 49 is definitely young in my book.

He was a superb customizer and gave the customs world a whole lot of mego scale heads. He was willing to give a tip or help you become a better customizer if you asked. His work will be missed. RIP

Sad indeed. I have lived long enough to know many people will pass through our lives, not all of them are meant to be forever. Russell was a good friend for a long time, although that friendship has long since ended, it has always been missed. Russell was a visionary who brought head shrinking out of the dark ages and he created more than a few of todays popular customizers in the process. Rest in peace Russell.

                              He was Customslabs, right?

I briefly talked to him a decade ago, but got the idea he was a pioneer in the head conversion game.

                              Way too young. RIP.
