    Custom Dark Shadows Figures...

    Hi Mego Mates,

I'm working on a few custom Dark Shadows figures and wanted to share my progress.

First up is my work in progress Angelique (as a vampire)...
    20180218_102447.jpg

Lara Parker as Angelique (as a vampire), for comparison...

Doc Mego body, CTVT head and shoes. I sewed the dress myself. Angelique had a few different vampire outfits, but my choice was between a black velvet dress with lace or the white dress pictured (the two dresses she wore the most often). I decided I liked the white. I'm not sure about the face repaint that I did, so I may redo it. Any thoughts?

OK, I need some feedback, please. Is this work-in-progress head, a good enough likeness to Barnabas Collins?

I like how the head looks (hair needs to be darker, though), but I wanted to get opinions from the experts. Please comment.

Me too...they're way too expensive now...and it's too bad the series didn't go longer.

I think it's a good enough likeness, but yeah, the hair could be darker.

I think the head adapts well, but I would say paler/more sallow, with shadowed eyes and darker hair. What are you using for the coat?

You know, it's funny about John-Boy--I once saw a very nice Chekhov made from him, too.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Thank you, guys. The coat I'm going to make myself, PNGwynne.

Cool! I'm looking forward to seeing it. I missed out on the Spectre Toys releases, your idea seems a good alternative.

Very nicely done on both of them.

Yeah, Barnabas' hair could be darker, but the likeness is almost spot on.

Angelique though; I'm not really getting the vampire vibe from her for some reason. The face itself is a little too bland to be as evil as she was, but the paint job is very nice.

Thank you, Mego Mates! I guess that Johnboy head makes a pretty good Barnabas. More to come.

isn't the Barabas a John boy Walton repaint?

Looks good. A couple suggestions: I would make Angelique's lips pink instead of red. Also, the top part of her hair should be pulled back over her ears.

Excellent use of a Barbie doll. Makes her much more interesting yham her usual look.

Thanks RonnyG for the suggestions, I'll probably make some of those changes.

Yes, Capt_Kirk...that's is a John Boy head recast repainted.
