I’m not criticizing him as a person, but as an actor...and he was not a good one.

Yeah, I wasn't speaking to his character either, i'm disagreeing with you by saying he was a actually quite a natural actor.

So I, rebuke your statement, you sir, have been rebuked!

Just came back from seeing this with the family and we really enjoyed it. It's worth sitting through all the credits too, often the after credits sequence is kind of throwaway but this one was pretty cool.

Sidney Poitier was horrible at King Fu.

Although I was making the connection between the two, possibly unfairly, I have to note that the media (and whoever the "morons" jwyblejr referenced) have been making that connection en masse even if I unfairly indirectly lumped you in.

Either way, I apologize for the assumption/implication in my post that I would be lying if I said wasn't there. I trust you if you say it wasn't. And, frankly, its uplifting if that's the case.

I haven't seen the movie.... but I've seen tons of reviews and commentaries. And I guess it riled me up too much in the case of your reply to my post. But, again, I was originally just commenting on jwyblejr's post, so there was some momentum in that way.

                  Again, uplifting.

The morons I was referring to have no idea who the character is nor have they seen the movie. They just see the title and think it's about The Black Panther group.

Fantastic film. One of Marvel's best. About as unique as you can get within in the super hero genre, and in many ways very timely and poignant...WITHOUT being preachy. My whole family (plus my son's girlfriend) REALLY enjoyed it, and we all want to see it again, very soon.

I agree with the timely and not preachy aspect of it. I thought it gave a well balanced approach to the topic, though it clearly leans to the one side. I enjoyed the movie, though I do have some quibbles with it, as I think I'm just tiring of some of the super hero tropes in most movies. Even though this movie has a unique perspective, it does have many predictable, seen it before parts of the story.

Again... I'll admit I jumped the gun here.

My only defense is that I saw absolutely none of that in my huge exploration of reactions to the film's release.

                        Seems weird.

Guess the "morons" somehow thought it was a documentary or feature film period-piece history recounting?

Just saw it, finally. GREAT! This was a powerful epic with characters you will quickly grow to love. It is so unique among Marvel's catalogue, which is precisely what it should be.

Not their best, and not as fun as Thor: Ragnarok (Marvel's most recent entry).

And yes, it is predictable in spots.

But you can't deny that the film has a power and an energy uniquely its own.
